READING SERIES
PAST READING SERIES PLAYSIn keeping with our mission to foster a collaborative process through the production of new works, ICBINS conducts an annual developmental reading series. All new, previously un-produced works are considered; preference is given to comedies. Playwrights must be in the NYC area.
Once a play is reviewed and accepted, we cast the play through our pool of talented actors and bring on board a director and dramaturg. Together we participate in a group table read and discussion of the material that will help launch the playwright into the next part of the drafting process.
This new draft is rehearsed once and performed as a public reading with an audience talk-back.
The reading series also serves as a potential gate-way to full production.
